TI is one of the first companies to have built extensive partnership with Chinese universities. It is the U Program that attracted me into the big TI family.
When I began my work, China didn’t invest much in high education as now. Few students had access to advanced international technology. Against this backdrop, TI decided to accelerate the growth of “U Program”.
In 2000, the third technical center was established in Chengdu. From then on, TI began its aggressive journey of accomplishing the goal of building 100 DSP labs for universities. Besides investing equipment in colleges, we also carried out National DSP Design Contest in order to help promote innovation among Chinese students.
To me, TI U Program is not only a work, but also a great project which holds great importance to Chinese education and the development of next generation engineers.
I love TI. People (top management, managers, engineers, operator, and so on) here are very friendly. Everyone talks about collaboration. Collaboration is important because we have to help each other when we are facing a challenge. I am proud to be a part of the TI family.

I feel that my experience in failure analysis and in packaging solutions have helped me grow, first in my career in TI, and also in my personal life. More Than Calculators
I am quite new to TI, but what I find great about it is you are a part of the team from the beginning and that is amazing. It feels cool when your manager appreciates your work and is in constant touch with you. I always wanted to work in the field of Analog Circuit designing, and I cannot think of any other place which can be as good as TI.
I have always known about TI, mostly through using their calculators in school. What I didn’t know until I was searching was that they are a massive semiconductor company. I did a little bit of research, and I was amazed at what markets TI has its hands in.
I remember the first time I set foot at TI, I could hardly recognize myself. With the opportunities for career growth at TI, I realized what I could do more or what I could be molded into.
If you're a newcomer, it's a very open environment. TI has an inviting culture where you can really discuss things with all of your colleagues.
Right now I'm assigned to a whole new different area. I am anxious about this change but TI has been very supportive. My journey to take this big leap took me to quite a few different countries for training. I'm excited on my new assignment and on facing ahead big challenges.
I think what really keeps me here at TI is the people. I work with smart, motivated, ethical people—and that's not easy to find everywhere. If you want to move forward at TI, being self-motivated and inquisitive about everything is the key. I would say the best way to advance your career is to always be asking questions and finding new ways to get things done. Basically, there is no typical workday here. The days can vary pretty dramatically. Some days I have large blocks of time to work on tasks and projects on my own. Other days, I'm working entirely with my team. The variability of my days is one of the things I like best at TI.

I like working at TI because they are one of the best companies in the world producing analog electrical components. Being able to work at a cutting-edge technological company is very exciting.
The reason why I chose to work at TI is I can see continuous growth and development not only in my personal skills but also in the company as a whole. TI's passion for innovation and excellence inspires me to be just that - innovative and excellent! And these are key ingredients that make my work more efficient and fruitful.
One of the things I liked at TI was the friendly, respectful environment and the opportunity to work with intelligent colleagues and team members. Another thing that impressed me was the emphasis on the quality of work, and on making products that are awesome, not just those meeting standards.
Being an engineer that wanted a strong technical foundation, but found every excuse possible to enroll in business classes when an opportunity arose, it only made sense for me to consider a career in sales. A Technical Sales Engineer is very much like being an entrepreneur. My set of accounts is my business. I make decisions and strategize on how to grow that business – down to every dollar that’s spent and every hour that’s invested with customers. The Technical Sales Rotation Program prepared me to drive business results and help my customers be successful. Aside from the great on-the-job training, I have made friendships that will last my whole career and lifetime.
I started volunteering at TI in Automotive MCU my senior year of high school. My supervisors, as well as others on my team, were always willing to answer my questions and make them self available to me. Fortunately, I was offered the opportunity to come back as a co-op right after graduation and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. My days consist of checking in with my boss and supervisor and working on various programming intensive projects. I get to do what I love with a great team. If there has been one thing that I would say has made my experience what it is today, it would be communication. Checking in with my supervisor and boss through out the course of the week allows us to stay on the same page and problem solve together. Entering the work environment early was slightly intimidating at first, but when it became apparent to me that TIers have a team oriented culture, I knew I was somewhere I could thrive.

The primary reason I chose to work at TI was because there many opportunities offered within the company to change positions and develop as an engineer.
From a new college graduate to the corporate world, TI made the transition very easy for me. People at TI encouraged me to be myself and the dealings with my colleagues were more on the casual side, which made me feel comfortable right from the start! The fact that I can approach my supervisor regarding anything without hesitation is pretty cool. My work is appreciated and my talent is recognized at TI and a work-life balance is easy to maintain.
Working as a sales person, I can control my work, make decisions and see the output. It is like running my own business. I make my own strategy, set up direction and drive whole related teams in to it. However, I would not be successful without the collaborating efforts of my team.

Being a SMU student, IT has a heavy influence in my undergrad program. Most of my professors have either worked for TI or are very knowledgeable about TI. I have a huge passion for chemistry and integrating it into what I have learned about EE. Because of this I am highly interested in Solid State Electronics, both development and research. TI is known for their facilities and being on the cutting edge of the solid state and semiconductor field.
I started as a working student in Freising, Germany, and had the opportunity to move to Dallas. This was a fantastic experience professionally and personally—it really helped shape my life. After working on engineering projects in Texas, I went back to Germany to work on a small product line that grew into a multi-million-dollar business—one of TI's largest. The key to TI—take the opportunities when they become available. TI has excelled by giving people freedom to define their own destiny. If you have a new idea, fight for it—keep an open mind, be interested in new things, and show dedication. But keep in mind that even a genius cannot develop and implement ideas on his own. A group of people is always more innovative.
I completed four rotations at TI in two years: wireless operations in Dallas and France, then finance roles in Education Technology and High-Volume Analog and Logic. These rotations allowed me to learn about TI's different businesses quickly and helped me select my current role (which I love)—product line manager in Education Technology. It allows me to combine analytical skills with strategic programs. I've taken nuggets of knowledge from each of my positions and incorporated them into my current role. To get ahead at TI, don't be afraid to ask questions, but know who and when to ask. Tell people what you're interested in, so they can keep you in mind as opportunities surface.
TI is such a diverse company to work for that you never know who you may meet or have lunch with on a day to day basis. You may meet a new intern one minute and be shaking hands with a top level manager next. The openness of communication makes work fun every day.
Bayern is my favorite football team for its initiative, discipline and persistence when faced with adversity. TI shares these admirable features. Just under this company culture, I accomplished my journey from a student to a TIer. During my first days as a TSA, I was confronted with many challenges. My supervisor and colleagues encouraged me a lot and their valuable advice often gave me great enlightenment. They told me never to give up. I gained much experience from working with them and gradually found my own way of being a salesman. Business is like a football match. No one knows what will happen in the next moment. The only thing you have to do is persevere.
TI is not a company with single technologies or products. With enthusiasm and patience, there’s new and interesting things for me to learn everyday. With TI’s strong people development system, and not only for one particular area, you can choose your career path as an engineer through the technical ladder or management.

In Kilby Labs, I got opportunity to work with the experts who are in electronics industry for over two decades. Their guidance helped me build a bridge connecting theoretical knowledge to practical. I am really encouraged to take my class room knowledge to apply in real life problems and learn new concepts at the same time. I am really inspired by them and grateful to their guidance. And I enjoy the “family atmosphere” in TI. Many TIers have helped me since my first day here. Considering my life convenience, my boss approved my transfer from Nanjing to Shanghai office. During my wedding days and honeymoon, my colleagues took care of most of my work. And now, during my pregnancy, I do not suffer much as I imagined, because everyone, my co-workers, my boss and customers, etc. renders me special care. I feel indebted to them.
Almost every day is different in Operations Planning. The analysis and recommendations I provide regarding manufacturing capacity directly affect whether TI is able to meet customer demand. When the market changes suddenly, I need to either have already anticipated the change in the way we source our products or be ready to adapt so there are no disruptions to supply. I’m always on the edge of my seat, in a good way. Additionally, I like the products TI makes. TI semiconductors are in almost every piece of technology we use today, so it’s exciting to make decisions that directly impact how our products get manufactured and into customer’s designs.
I have worked in TI for 12 years. During the first nine years, I was dedicated to product research and development. In 2003, I put forward a brand new concept for C2000, i.e. Digital Signal Controller (DSC), which helped bring down C2000 to common users.
The year of 2008 is a turning point for me. In this year, I became a salesman. Although I was more of a technician, I began to enjoy working with fellow TSAs, realizing the important role they played in product promotion. Now I am the leader of a MCU “dream team”. I really thank TI for the great opportunities it has offered me.
I continually learn so much from the diverse talent employed at TI. Our organization is filled with innovative, creative people, and we get better results by bouncing ideas around and getting feedback from one another. Collaboration helps avoid gaps, conflicting efforts and duplication of work. To fully engage in such a learning and collaborative atmosphere, you should work hard, be proactive in understanding our business overall, and share information in a personal way. Overall, TI is successful because we listen to our customers and try to figure out what will make their lives and work easier. TI has provided me with many opportunities. I've done product, test and application engineering, systems and marketing, and product line management—from concept to customer delivery. There's always something new to learn, and you should learn as much as you can. It's the challenges I get to work on every day that keep me here. I get to constantly figure out how to do things more efficiently, and it forces me to be innovative. Collaboration is important, too, and you need to have a good network inside TI to get things done. Build relationships with senior engineers and managers, consider all the factors of a project, and use the systems that are in place to get things done.
Absolutely I am working in the #1 Analog Company in the world. When I was a student, I’d never thought that I would work at TI because it was a kind of my dream. But I proudly made my dream come true. I can’t believe that I am working with very experienced people and expert engineers.
In just my first month in the program I was able to assist several large customers in solving circuit design problems, create an evaluation module for a 12-bit DAC, and meet with top management at TI. I have been stretched to learn the fine points in good design and learn how to better interact with people. The Applications Engineering Program is preparing me for a long-term career in Analog Applications Engineering. It is a challenging entry-level opportunity, but if you want to learn applications engineering and be the best – this program is how to get there.
“In TI, you will always embrace the most advanced technology; in TI, you will never worry about falling behind; in TI, you are always provided with various opportunities and room for improvement.” I said that during my presentation in the year of 2005 and I still think so. Although there is much pressure, every TIer is rendered a relatively loose working environment. One has the freedom to choose their own growth path, either to become an administrator or technician. For my part, technical research holds great attraction. As a result, I devoted much of my time to the study of DSP. TI values my efforts and I was admitted into TI Technology Committee in 2009, which is a great encouragement to me.
TI is a leader in the analog industry and with great company culture which provides many opportunities and challenges. In different career stages TI provides related trainings, on job training (projects) and self learning opportunities which helped me to grow quickly.
TI encourages me to turn my ideas/work into a patent or paper. I have presented three international papers and filed two patents over the past five years.

I chose to intern at Texas Instruments because TI offered a project in robotics, a field I feel passionately about. TI, with its diverse fields in electrical engineering, would always have someone I can turn to if I run into problems.
For the past years, the environment is a very important aspect in our lives. I learned that TI Clark is the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certified facility in the Philippines. There are really big differences in its facility design and realize that I too should adapt an environment - friendly design in my home. This is really cool since running a business should consider not only its products and people but the environment as well.
In the summer of 2011, I was just fresh out of graduate school – among all the working opportunities TI stood out the most for offering me the chance to join the TMG Leadership Development Rotation Program, which is an unique opportunity to allow a new employee to accelerate his/her career. My fellow program members and I rotate around the world in different TI FABs and A/T sites, which provides learning and working experience in different roles along in the semiconductor manufacturing roadmap. TI is a company that is willing to invest resources and time on developing and cultivating leaders; moreover, TI does appreciate the possibility and potential within young employees and give them a chance to excel.
