TI India

In 1985 Texas Instruments(TI) became the first technology company to set up an R&D center in India. Since then, we have been home to the best talent from the semiconductor engineering community. At TI India the best technologists in the country develop solutions that impact millions of people. In three decades of our presence in India, we have emerged as a key R&D site for TI. We invest in our people such that there are opportunities to learn and grow, while working with the best minds in the industry. Work at TI India is a rich experience and the technologies driven from here are world class with a global impact across all major TI businesses. With over 1000 patents filed and over 600 issued, TI India is a hotbed of innovation second to none. No surprise then that Kilby Labs, a hallmark innovation and research set up at TI, chose Bangalore as the location of its first ever international expansion. Catching on the potential of India as a market, in 2006 we established our sales offices in India. With seven Sales and Applications offices across India, TI has the largest sales presence in the country amongst semiconductor companies.

University Partnerships to Build World-Class Analog Talent

Worldwide, TI engineers are recognized as the cream of engineering talent.

Texas Instruments India is committed to building world-class analog talent in India through close industry–academia collaboration. We have entered into strategic partnerships with leading universities, and introduced Masters and Research programs in analog. The curriculum is designed to reflect new technology advances in analog, future challenges and most importantly, to foster learning through a hands-on internship at TI to work on real-world problems. 

Presently, TI India has partnerships with three universities, supporting masters in analog programs:

–          TI’s MS Analog Program at IIT-Madras

–          VLSI Design Tools and Technology (VDTT) – IIT Delhi

–          TI Scholarship Program at IISc, Bangalore

 TI’s MS Analog Program at IIT – Madras

TI’s MS Analog Program at IIT-Madras combines the rigor of research with in-depth practical experience at TI through a year-long internship. The program is meant for students who love analog engineering, are keen to deep dive into technology challenges faced by the industry, work on live projects and think of innovative solutions that can even open the door to patents.

Program duration, structure and benefits:

  • A three and a half year, full-time program, focused on researching analog. One-year classroom learning followed by hands-on internship at TI.
  • TI sponsored full scholarship for students selected in the program along with monthly stipend
  • Right blend of industry and academic exposure and opportunity to work with an industry leader in semiconductors
  • Hands-on opportunity to work on a full chip tape-out
  • Work with the most diverse product set available and real-time complex projects
  • World-class faculty at IIT(M) and mentors from TI to provide guidance to students and ensure quick ramp to TI’s analog skill requirements
  • Opportunity to write a technical White Paper or file a patent
  • Chance to secure a job at TI. Successful students will be extended job offers at the end of internship.

Eligibility and Selection Process:

  • Valid GATE score of 700 or more in EC, EE, or IN. Currently, GATE scores are valid for 3 years. (GATE requirement is waived for IIT BTech students with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) or 8 or higher).
  • Written Test at IIT-M
  • Interviews for students who clear the written exam
  • One or two rounds of technical interview by IIT faculty and TI panelists
  • TI India HR interview

 VLSI Design Tools and Technology (VDTT) – IIT Delhi

The VDTT Program at IIT Delhi, sponsored by TI, offers students interested in analog engineering an understanding of latest trends and practices in analog technology. It also exposes students to industry challenges. An intensive internship at TI provides an opportunity to work on complex, real-world problems.

Program duration, structure and benefits:

  • A two-year full-time program, with 1.3 year classroom learning combined with eight months internship at TI
  • TI-sponsored full scholarship for students selected in the VDTT program along with monthly stipend
  • Right blend of industry and academic exposure
  • World-class faculty and mentors to ensure that the students are ramped quickly and ready for TI’s analog skill requirements
  • Chance to secure a job at TI; successful students will be extended job offers at the end of internship itself

Eligibility and Selection Process

  • Students are selected based on their GATE score and internal selection procedures of IIT Delhi, which includes a written test.
  • Short-listed candidates are interviewed by TI.

 TI Scholarship Program @ IISc

The Texas Instruments (TI) Scholarship at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, is a unique and comprehensive program for master’s students with a keen interest in analog engineering. Students gain an opportunity to intern with TI and are mentored by leading minds in the industry. The course brings together the best of both worlds – a strong theoretical grounding at IISc and real-world application of this knowledge at TI. Students with a passion for analog will find this program exciting and enriching.

Program duration, structure and benefits:

  • A two-year full-time program, with 1.3 year classroom learning combined with eight months internship at TI
  • Full TI sponsorship to selected scholars along with monthly stipend
  • In-depth understanding of analog semiconductors which encompasses design, verification and testing of analog/RF semiconductor devices
  • Internship at TI with the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art projects
  • Mentoring by leading TI engineers with years of industry experience
  • Successful students will be recruited by TI at the end of internship

Eligibility and Selection Process

  • Students admitted to M. Tech programs at IISc are eligible to apply for the TI Scholarship Program @ IISc
  • Selection process includes a written test followed by an interview with shortlisted candidates
  • Project discussion – students to discuss the available TI projects with professors & finalize the same


TI’s internship program focuses on selecting best engineering minds from the top universities who have passion for semiconductors and giving them meaningful projects and experiences during their internship at TI. The projects are challenging and offer the best possible opportunities for students to work on complex engineering problems under the guidance of a trained and experienced mentor. We invest in laying a strong foundation during our internship through dedicated skill building sessions with industry experts, networking sessions with senior leaders, while having fun exploring Texins (a recreational and hobbyist club), DIY contests, Intern Days and experiencing the vibrant TI culture. In other words an internship with TI is the first step in building a long and successful career.

Early career professionals

We engage top universities across India to find the best and brightest to join our team. Once here, recent college graduates take part in our Make an Impact program. This is our global one-year development program designed especially for recent college graduates joining TI. Make an Impact was created to do exactly that – help you build on your education and quickly make your impact on TI. The program guides you and other new TIers through engineering and professional development courses, interactive discussions and hands-on bootcamps to help you apply your skills and experience to your new role.

University ecosystem

Over the years, TI has worked with universities across India to impart and build knowledge of semiconductor technology and system design. TI works closely with over 1000 engineering colleges in the country, where in we engage the student and faculty community through setting up labs, helping design curriculum, sponsoring research, providing design kits, and conducting design contests.
