The Validation/Characterization Engineering Interns at Texas Instruments are powered by a passion for continual improvement. Our solutions make a real difference and yours will, too. We make the semiconductor product design process easier and faster, which helps our customers succeed in today’s fast-paced marketplace. We look for a student who is available for minimum 20 weeks for an internship, ideally starting April 2025.

In this role you will support the development of latest isolated precision ADCs or precision amplifiers. This includes PCB and test software development, silicon debugging, IC characterization and data analysis. You will be an integral part of the new product development team, where you will be interfacing across multiple functions in international team setups with the focus on some of the following points:

  • Characterization of key product parameters using laboratory instruments (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, pattern generator…)
  • Verification, optimization and automation of existing measurement and test concepts
  • Processing, evaluation and presentation of measurement data
  • Assignment to one or more own development project in the areas: Automation of a measurement setup or development of lab boards

Minimum requirements:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree
  • Basic programming skills, preferable C/C++ and LabVIEW
  • Basic understanding of operational amplifiers and/or analog digital converters

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders critical to success, both internally and externally
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly ramp on new systems and processes
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Proficiency with bench test equipment (i.e, Power Supplies, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes)
  • Basic experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, Matlab and/or other programming languages
  • Experience with PCB design tools is preferred
