Diffusion Process Engineer (SM1 – Sherman, TX)

Texas Instruments is looking for an energetic engineer with a passion for process. This position provides the opportunity to drive continual improvement at all levels. Our team is primarily focused on driving improved procedures and processes. We are searching for a self-directed, highly motivated engineer to join our team.

 
The responsibilities of a Diffusion Process Engineer in this role include:

  • Support startup of multiple 300mm Diffusion processes under an aggressive timeline
  • Continuously improve processes to deliver world class process yield, cycle time, and cost
  • Implement robust APC and comprehensive fault detection strategies for your processes
  • Execute lot dispositions, process tuning, and process experiments (SWRs) as needed
  • Quickly gather and analyze data to resolve issues and escalate to management as needed
  • Work with cross module teams to identify and solve complex integration problems
  • Work with PI/PDE Team on parametric shifts, process yield, and probe yield issues
  • Support the continuous flow of production material to minimize cycle time
  • Provide effective communication (written and verbal) of project status and any process issues
  • Work closely with the manufacturing, EE, YE, and PI/PDE organizations in TI’s new SM1 manufacturing site

The designated location for this job is Sherman, TX, however your temporary job location could be assigned in Richardson, TX. Details on your temporary job location will be provided to you by your recruiter during the offer process.

Minimum requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering,) Physics or related engineering degree
  • 1 year of experience owning Diffusion processes in a semiconductor manufacturing or research environment

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience in 300mm manufacturing
  • Previous wafer fab startup experience
  • Experience with TEL and ASM vertical furnace processing (atmospheric and LPCVD)
  • Excellent wafer fab process knowledge (e.g., understanding contamination concerns in the Diffusion module and its interaction with other process modules)
  • Ability to work with aggressive timelines and drive for timely results
  • Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects at the same time
  • Puts team first and values collaboration
  • Works effectively and efficiently with little direction
  • High level of accountability and ownership
  • Maintains positive attitude even with quickly shifting priorities
  • Likes being in the cleanroom doing hands-on work
