Field Applications Engineering Internship – Self-cleaning camera system

240003ZL

We can’t predict what the future holds, but we know Texas Instruments will have a part in shaping it.

As modern cars evolve towards higher levels of autonomous driving and driver assistance systems, the number of cameras in the car chassis is increasing rapidly. Ensuring the cleanliness of the camera lens is key in ensuring reliable and safe operation: many manufacturers are turning to complex hydraulic and pneumatic systems to keep the lens clean, which add cost and weight to the car. TI has come up with an innovative ultrasonic based cleaning method for the camera: you will be tasked to evaluate the performance of this demonstrator in different operational scenarios, prepare a user guide for public release, and define the next steps for optimization, from a demo board to a real-world system (space, cost, weight and reliability in mind)

Subject:

The internship mission revolves around the 3 guiding steps below, but the actual scope and extent of your work will be defined by yourself and your manager along the internship progress:

  • Evaluate the camera cleaning demonstrator performance
  • Create collaterals (application note, user guide) to help quick evaluation of the technology using the demo board.
  • Work on optimization opportunities for a revision of this design, depending on customer inputs and.

The project will be exploiting at least the below technologies:

If successful during your internship, it may lead to you being hired as a graduate Analog Field Applications Engineer in 2025.

The team you will join:

In this role you´ll be part of a team of field sales and field application Engineers who are working with customers to help them be successful and generate revenue growth. This is achieved by identifying projects early and working closely with the customer to solve their engineering challenges.

You can also rely on additional internal support from power, system and product experts.

Missions:

The core of the project revolves around a full electrical engineer design cycle from specification to validation.

Managing and defining a project based on customers inputs

Intern time will actually be spent in prototyping, Schematic/Layout/Assembly of his PCB project, testing, creation and refinement of collaterals for the project

The intern will own his project as a mean to learn as well as express her/himself

Texas Instruments will not sponsor job applicants for visas or work authorization for this position.
