Field Applications Engineering Internship – Improvement of Automotive Battery Management System (BMS)
240003ZM
We can’t predict what the future holds, but we know Texas Instruments will have a part in shaping it.
As the world drives toward vehicle electrification, Texas Instruments advanced battery management systems (BMS) are helping Automotive OEMs make electric vehicles (EVs) more affordable and accelerate EV adoption by helping customer design better BMS for EVs.
Subject:
The goal of the internship will be first to familiarize with EV Powertrain architecture, identify the new trends to improve BMS system and design system solution with TI products.
You will have to develop system expertise and knowledge on TI latest battery monitor products BQ79718-Q1 / BQ79731-Q1. The radio-MCU CC2662-Q1 will be part of your scope to support wireless BMS applications.
As part of the engineering team, you will develop a hardware/software Power train ref design to promote TI semiconductor technologies designed to address those BMS trends.
The project may extend to other key components of the Power train such as Traction inverter, On-board charger (OBC) and DC/DC converter.
Key words: EV, Power train, BMS, BQ79718, CC2662
The team you will join (missions, products…):
In this role you’ll be part of a team of System, Business Unit (BU), field sales and field application Engineers who are working with customers to help them be successful and generate revenue growth. This is achieved by identifying projects early and working closely with the customer to solve their engineering challenges.
You can also rely on additional internal support from BU and system engineering team in an international environment.
The intern will own his project as a mean to learn as well as express her/himself.
Texas Instruments will not sponsor job applicants for visas or work authorization for this position.
Missions & main tasks:
- The core of the project revolves around a full electrical engineer design cycle from specification to validation.
- Managing projects based on customers inputs
- Intern time will actually be spent in prototyping, Schematic/Layout/Assembly of his PCB project as well as developing related Firmware
Texas Instruments will not sponsor job applicants for visas or work authorization for this position.
Minimum Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field
- Fluent French and English skills (at least B2)
- Basic understanding of schematics, layouts and digital components
- Knowledge and understanding of analog circuitry (examples include: op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensing, etc.)
- Experience with at least one PCB design tool (Altium, Allegro, …)
- Programming skills in the language of your choice, e.g. Python, C, Visual Basic
- Knowledge of RF Standards like Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, Wi-Fi is a plus
