DSP firmware engineer [Software Engineer] – Audio BU The Audio BU is hiring an Audio DSP firmware engineer to support its Audio Converter products. In this role you will be part of a team that develops and implements real-time audio processing solutions to deliver innovative audio and speech experience through amplifiers and converters. Candidate will be responsible for designing and developing Audio algorithm and audio framework on DSP platform focusing on real-time signal processing applications. The role involves designing, developing, debugging, optimizing and testing of Matlab, embedded C and assembly source code with an emphasis on audio applications. Key responsibilities include: · Develop and optimize firmware for DSP processors, ensuring high performance, low latency and efficient resource utilization. · Work with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration of DSP firmware with mixed signal hardware such as ADC, DAC, ClassD and Headphone amplifiers · Working on the implementation of efficient real-time audio algorithms on resource constrained DSPs/MCUs and neural network engines · Participate in firmware code reviews and create documentation for firmware projects including block diagrams, state diagrams, coding specifications and product descriptions · Test and validate the firmware through unit tests, simulations and real hardware environments
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, ECE with specialization in signal processing · 3+ years’ experience in embedded systems · Solid understanding of signal processing, DSP fundamentals and Deep Learning architectures · Proven experience in DSP firmware development including experience with DSP processors (Qualcomm Kalimba, TI C55x, Analog Devices SigmaDSP) · Embedded C and MATLAB experience required · Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, attention to details and ability to work in a collaborative work environement Preferred Qualifications: · Hands-on experience in signal processing techniques such as digital filter design (IIR, FIIR), adaptive filtering, noise and echo cancellation · Experience with adaptive filters, sub-band processing, multi-rate DSP, and frequency domain processing · Familiarity with machine learning tools (eg. PyTorch) and training/testing methodologies is a plus · Experience with assembly language programming is a plus · Bringing up audio hardware and prototyping systems · Ability to work with a variety of teams or independently as needed · System Profiling tools experience · Strong debugging/trouble-shooting skills of embedded systems · Familiarity with code version control practices |
