Sales Engineering Intern – Next generation of Automotive lighting design – End of engineering school internship (PFE)

240003ZN

We can’t predict what the future holds, but we know Texas Instruments will have a part in shaping it.

Context:

Automotive lighting design has evolved dramatically over the last few years from an aesthetic and electronics point of view. The rise of automotive zonal architecture in cars has influenced the manufacturers to remove the microcontroller (MCU) from the light driver. TI is a leader in this new trend within the automotive world with dedicated devices.

Subject:

The goal of the internship is to design and showcase to customer the next generation of lighting solutions. You will lead the design of the new technical solution (TPS92664-Q1, TPS92520-Q1, TPS92682-Q1, DRV8343-Q1) centered around an architecture capable of operating without local MCU.

As part of the engineering team, the core of the project revolves around a full electrical engineer design cycle from specification to validation.

Key words: lighting driver, MCU less, Automotive Zonal architecture, Headlight, LED lighting, Adaptative Driving Beam, Software Defined Vehicles (SDV).

Missions:

You will own your project as a mean to learn as well as express yourself.
To achieve this, you can rely on additional internal support from BU and system engineering team in an international environment.

Main tasks

  • Project management
  • Customer interfacing (for product definition and presentation of results/findings)
  • Schematic/Layout/Assembly of your PCB project
  • Evaluation of your project
  • Creation and refinement of collaterals (application note and/or patents)

The team you will join (missions, products…):

In this role you’ll be part of a team of Field Application Engineers in an international environment who are working with customers to help them be successful. This is achieved by identifying projects early and working closely with the customer to solve their engineering challenges.

You will also benefit from expertise from power, system and product experts.

Texas Instruments will not sponsor job applicants for visas or work authorization for this position.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Pursuing last year of Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field
  • Fluent French and English skills (at least B2)
  • Basic understanding of schematics, layouts and integrated circuits (ICs)
  • Knowledge and understanding of analog circuitry (examples include: op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensing, etc.)
  • Experience with at least one PCB design tool (Altium, Allegro, …) is a plus
  • Programming skills in typical embedded languages: Python, C, C++, …
