Texas Instruments is looking for an energetic communications specialist, who enjoys helping others to succeed by providing team members and employees with support in a positive and professional environment. This employee communicator will be responsible for managing employee communications for one of TI’s businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in internal or organizational communications and be able to recommend communications strategies for influencing and managing change, as well as educating employees on company and organizational strategy.

About the Job:

This role oversees internal and external communications for TI Japan Inc., recommending and executing communications strategies for engaging and educating external and internal audiences (including both TI sales team and manufacturing employees). 

It is also this person’s responsibility to provide executive communications counsel to organizational leaders. This includes key message development and implementing creative strategies and tactics to ensure those messages are broadly understood. He/she will work closely with TI’s worldwide Corporate Communications and Executive and Employee Communications teams, and may have opportunities to work across organizations on various cross-company employee communications efforts. 

As part of Corporate Communications responsibilities, this person will contribute to the development and production of corporate content and newsletters to deliver company news and other important content to internal and external audiences. 

Role responsibilities include:

The Japan Communications Manager leads internal and external communications efforts across sites in Japan (Tokyo, Miho, Aizu), and is responsible for defining and executing communications strategy in line with Japan’s business priorities and through our company-level marketing efforts. 

·         Employee and executive communications: Partner with TI Japan President, Miho Manufacturing Managing Director, Aizu Manufacturing Managing Director and HR leadership to plan, manage and execute employee and executive communications strategies that support employee engagement and ensure sales and manufacturing employees understand priorities and focus of their organization. This person must be able to align the right message to the right delivery channel (Department meeting, town hall, pass downs, roundtable, intranet, internal newsletter, employee blogs, leader email, digital signage, etc.)

·         Brand marketing: Plan and execute marketing campaigns and develop relevant collateral materials to building local brand awareness and engagement around recruiting and citizenship efforts, in close partnership with local talent acquisition and community involvement teams

·         Media relations: Lead the development, delivery and measurement of media relations strategy include but not limited to cultivate and strengthen relationships with Japanese media outlets, efficiently handle press inquiries, localize global PR initiatives, provide guidance, day-to-day management of PR agency team and local issues management (as required)

·         On-going collaboration with worldwide communications partners (Ex: Issues, Media Relations, TI Studios, Brand Marketing, Internal Platforms and more) and communicators across the regions

 

Role requirements:

·         At least 5  years relevant experience in corporate communications, internal communications and/or media relations

·         Ability to travel as needed to Miho and Aizu facilities

·         Fluent in written and spoken English and Japanese, with experience in copywriting in Japanese

·         Professional and well spoken, excellent communications & presentation skills

·         Professional understanding of issue/crisis management

·         Ability to effectively engage with team members of all levels and across departments

·         Great project management skills, including time management, goal-setting, multitasking and prioritization

·         Good data analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking skills

·         Experience in managing agency and budget is a plus

Preferred qualifications & experience

·         Experience in engaging with director to general manager levels

·         Knowledge of the high-tech or semiconductor industries are preferred, but not required

·         Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications or journalism, Master degree is optional
